Fire Guts 10 Shops In Murshidabad


Berhampore: At least ten shops were gutted on Wednesday late night at Murshidabad’s Banchara police station area’s Kuli Chowrasta area. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

As per locals, at first the fire broke out at a shop. The fire then spread to a nearby sweet shop. The shop had a cylinder which burst due to the fire. This fire then spread to eight more nearby shops.

The locals first tried diffusing the fire and then the fire tenders came and brought the situation under control.

A total of 10 shops were gutted in the fire and properties worth lakhs of money were destroyed as per the shop owners. The primary investigation by the fire services reveals short circuit as the reason for the fire.
