Fire Destroys Houses In Malda


Malda: Numerous houses got destroyed completely in two fire incidents in Narayanpur and Bangitola village in Malda.

The first fire broke out in Narayanpur village near Manikchowk Police Station on Sunday night. It broke out in Ananda Mondal’s house. The fire spread fast destroying the ten adjoining houses. The fire tenders came late so the locals started dousing the fire themselves. After struggling for a few hours, they could bring the fire under control. Atleast, properties worth of 12 lakhs of rupees were lost in the fire, according to Manikchowk Station’s Police. Members of 10 families are awaiting help from the government.

The second fire incident took place in Bangitola village near Kaliachowk Police Station on Monday afternoon. The fire first broke out in the kitchen of a house. The fire spread soon. 3 fire tenders reached the spot and took almost 3 hours to bring the fire under control. Atleast 100 houses got burnt and completely destroyed in the fire. Properties worth one crore rupees were lost in the fire.
