Fire Breaks Out At Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital

Kolkata: Fire broke out at the Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital on Tuesday morning at its research wing’s genetic lab. As a result of the fire, the hospital services are completely disrupted.

2 fire tenders have been pressed into service. The genetic lab at 3rd floor is filled with smoke.

Several patients were there in the hospital and naturally panic spread among them. The hospital authorities moved the patients out from the hospital. The police of the Bhawanipore police station have rushed to the spot. The researchers expect that important documents might be gutted in the fire.

The fire is almost in control after trying for more than half an hour. The smoke has also reduced. The pocket fires have been doused too. It is being seen how the fire broke out.

On the other hand, fire also broke out at a closed shop in Burra bazar’s Nalini Sheth lane. The fire is expected to spread. Chaos between the businessmen. 3 fire tenders have been rushed to the spot.

Earlier, fire had broke out at a high rise named Ganges fort in Topsia. It accommodates offices of several organisations. The employees rushed out of the building in fear. Two fire engines were pressed into service. It is yet to be ascertained the cause of the fire. The fire was brought under control, and the presence of fire extinguishers helped more. No reports of injury or loss to life.
