Fire Breaks Out At Air India Office In Dhaka Airport

Dhaka: Fire has broken out at the main building of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Later it was notice that the fire broke out at the Air India Office in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The fire broke out on the second floor of the building around 1:37pm on Friday.

Fire Service headquarters duty officer Polash Chandra Modok confirmed the matter . He said 10 firefighting units are working to douse the blaze.

Polash said: “The reason behind the fire is yet to be confirmed. No casualty has been reported yet.”

APBN Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Aftab Uddin said: “Some hajj pilgrims are inside the airport. Some flights might be delayed or cancelled due the incident.”

Wishing anonymity, an official of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) the Dhaka Tribune the fire might have originated from electric short circuit.

Some airlines offices are situated on the floor where the fire broke out.

Officials of APBn, police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are evacuating the building and trying to control the law order situations in the airport area.
