FIR filed against Bollywood actor Sunny Deol for Mohalla Assi


Lucknow: A police complaint has been filed against bollywood actor Sunny Deol and the director of Mohalla Assi, Chandra Prakash Dwivedi for hurting religious sentiments. The complaint has been filed by an organization named Sarvajan Jagruti Sanstha, whose members have alleged that the film not only violates moral ethics but also depicts Varanasi in a poor light.

The complaint was filed at Bhelupur Police Station on Sunday.

The movie is based on a novel by noted Hindi writer Kashi Nath Singh and focuses on the life of a middle class family that earns its bread and butter by organizing religious rituals. Sunny Deol plays the lead role in the movie and Sakshi Tanwar plays the role of his innocent wife.

A complainant said, “”The film hurts religious sentiments and we cannot allow such a film to be released.
