Kolkata: An FIR has been lodged against the owners of the estate of Kolkata’s Bagri market and CEO of the Bagri market by Kolkata fire department and Kolkata Municipal corporation. The complaint was lodged in Bura bazar Police Station.
Traders alleged that owners of the Bagri Market leaved the country after fire engulfed bagri Market and Kolkata police did not try to catch them. An emergency meeting was held in Nabanna on Monday for the reason behind the fire in Bagri Market. It was decided that the market owner and CEO will be interrogated. But they absconded after the incident.
A case was lodged at Burra Bazar police station against the directors of Bagri, including Radha Bagri, Varun Raj Bagri and the Chief Executive Officer of Bagri Estate Krishna Kumar Kothari.
Traders also alleged that, despite the payment, no action has been taken to protect the market. Fire extinguishers did not work. There was no water in the tank. As a result, fire officials had tough time to douse the flame.
