Filmmaker RGV Quits Twitter

Mumbai: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has joined the likes of Sonu Nigam and quit Twitter. The micro-blogging recently suspended the account of singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya following which his friend and fellow colleague Sonu Nigam decided to quit Twitter but not without a 24-tweet long rant.

The latest one to join the bandwagon is RGV who has been notorious for his rants, fights, and trolls. From offending many actresses to trolling fellow directors and their films, RGV has done it all. The 55-year-old filmmaker had joined Twitter on May 27, 2009.

Bidding farewell to the site and his followers in his own eccentric way, he tweeted,“My pleasantly unpleasant surprise is I am getting out of Twitter…To all my followers, no thanks for following me all these years.”

However, he isn’t going on an exile from social media. Instead, he revealed that he will now use photo and video sharing website/app Instagram. “I decided to speak only through pictures and videos on Instagram from now on…” he tweeted.

He concluded it by tweeting, “This my last tweet before my tweet death..but I will not RIP nd seriously work from now on @RGVzoomin Birth:27/5/2009 Death:27/5/2017 (sic).” Well, truth be told, Twitter will not be same again without Ram Gopal Varma.
