Islampur: Protesting the death of two Darivit students, Bharatiya Janata Party has called for 12 hour strike in West Bengal. North Dinajpur highly agitated as protesters set ablaze in public buses, vandalised private buses.
The locals alleged that, the incident took place in presence of police but did not take any step. BJP alleged that in support of the ruling party, police has arrested their supporters.
Islampur is agitated over protest since morning. Huge police have been deployed to avoid unpleasent situation. But it did not work. The strike supporters are carrying bricks, stones, sticks and tried to stop vehicles and forced people to shut the shops.
A siliguri-bound bus was standing on National Highway on this morning. Few people forcefully evacuate the bus and set fire in the bus. The passengers started to escape the place out of explosion fear in the place.
