Update: As fresh reports are pouring in, sources confirmed that a terrorist was gunned down by a joint team of Indian army and Jammu and Kashmir police and two more are still hiding in the area. Further reports said that there were stone pelting in the area by local youth but they were dispersed by the police.
Srinagar: A fierce encounter is going on between the security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Three militants are suspected to be hiding in a house at Astan Mohalla in kakapura area.
Forces have cordoned off the area. The militants hiding in the area are suspected to belong to the terror outfit Jamat-ul-Mujahideen. No casualties have been reported so far.
On the other hand, escalating tension Pakistani forces continues to shell Indian posts across the LOC. Panic gripped the border villages and residents are seen fleeing the area. Parts from mortar shells can be found lying scattered on the ground. The firing is duly returned by our jawans.
