London:Roger Federer advanced to his 10th career Wimbledon semifinal with a straight set win (6-3, 7-5, 6-2) over No. 12 Gilles Simon on Wednesday. Federer dominated the match from start to finish and kept control of the match despite a pair of rain delays — one in the first set and one in the second set that allowed Simon a chance to regroup.”The stop-and-goes are never easy, but I think I used them to my advantage,” said Federer after the match.
Federer, who is looking for a record eighth Wimbledon and 18th Grand Slam title, will face 2013 champion Andy Murray in the semifinals Friday. Murray beat Canada’s Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to reach his sixth Wimbledon semifinal.
