Fake Indian Currency Racket Busted In B’desh, Indian Arrested


Malda: Alert has been sounded at the Indo-Bangladesh border after an Indian was
arrested in Bangladesh over fake note racket. However, his aides have escaped to
West Bengal following which security was beefed up at the border.

Based on reports by Indian detective agency, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) of
Bangladesh raided Chapainbabganj area, which is adjacent to Malda. This area of
Bangladesh has the factory manufacturing fake money. Rubel Hossain, an Indian, was
arrested from this area for the fake money racket. Fake currency worth one crore
was recovered from him. However, his aides also escaped. Chapainbabganj area is
famous for organisations such as Jamat Islam and terror outfir JMB.

Lakhs of fake Indian currency were recovered by raiding at Dhaka. The main accused
was arrested whose house was at Rajsahi Chapainbabganj’s Shibganj area. Malda
district of West Bengal is adjacent to this. NIA had previously aleted that terror
activities and exchange of fake currency have increased in the border.
