Kolkata: The Kolkata Police App ‘eye watch’ was made available for the general public on last December. However, due to certain technological hurdles, the app has not been a popular feature in the smart phones of the Kolkatans. The app was launched with tremendous enthusiasm and excitement. But it has not lived up to the hype it generated at the time of launching.
On downloading the app, the mobile user has to register their mobile number and e-mail address. It is now on registration that the problem crops up. A message is being flashed on the screen showing ‘No network found’, thereby stopping the proper functioning of the app.
According to the police, anyone from any corner of the city can send their message to the Lalbazar control room and ask for help and security. But in reality, no one is being able to avail this service.
