The fire servicemen have worked throughout the night. It was being presumed at the
wee hours of Monday that the fire is somewhat in control and will be doused within
few hours. But that did not happen.
Explosions started since morning which again turned the fire to being a major
incident once again. The fire is spreading once again due to the presence of
inflammable substances. The area is again filled with black smoke.
35 fire tenders have been pressed into service and the servicemen are trying their
level best to bring the fire under control. But no matter what, the situation is
still not under control.
On the other hand, the KMC workers have started clearing debris of some parts of
the Bagri market. When some part of the market fire is being doused, fire is
emerging from some other part.
The house adjoining the market consists of a godown of gas lighters. Thousands of
lighters are there. The fire servicemen believe that if fire spreads to this area
then a major incident will come up. The shutters of the shops in the lower floors
of the market are being cut and water being supplied through it. Water is also
being given from the roof of the adjoining building’s roof. Water is being given in
the walls of the nearby buildings too.
Cracks have cropped up in the walls which can lead to the collapse of the market
On the other hand, the burnt items are being removed.
