Moscow: An explosion near a library in Russia’s second city St. Petersburg injured one person late on Thursday. According to local police the blast occurred at 18:40 local time (1540GMT) outside the first floor of an apartment building in the hands of a young man.
The cause of the blast has not yet been confirmed. The injured man was rushed to a local hospital.
Police and the local security services said they were investigating the incident. Last week a suicide bombing in a St. Petersburg metro carriage killed 14 people and injured 50 others.
