Malda: Two people died and two others were injured in an explosion in West Bengal’s Malda district on Monday. Initial reports suggest the explosion occurred at a plastic scrap workshop in Sujapur area of the district. The injured have been rushed to the Maldah Medical College. Police along with bomb squad rushed to the spot.
The blast was so severe that the victims faces were completely charred rendering the bodies difficult to identify. Sources said that the workshop is a crude bomb making unit of local Trinamool leader Mafizul Sheikh and one of the bomb went off accidentally. An investigation has been launched by police but no arrest has been made yet.
Yesterday another Trinamool leader Pabitra Roy in Malda had opened fired on mobs killing two people after trying to fled the spot for a hit-and-run case. He was later arrested and remanded to police custody.
