Siliguri: The former CEO of Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA), Godala Kiran Kumar was once again arrested by the Siliguri Police on Weednesday. According to police sources it was heard that Kiran Kumar was quizzed by the cops for hours before getting nabbed by the cops. According to the police, there were certain missing links in his statement which initiated them to take Kumar in their custody. Kumar was arrested from Pintel Village in Siliguru, said the sources. In all probaility, he will be produced before the Siliguri Court on Thursday.
Earlier Enforcement Directorate, which is probing the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) scam, had summoned IAS officer Godala Kiran Kumar. In connection to the SJDA scam, Trinamool leader and minister Gautam Deb had also been summoned by the ED.The Rs 200-crore ‘scam’ happened when Godala Kiran Kumar was the SJDA chief executive officer. He is under investigation in eight cases involving alleged siphoning of funds meant for projects that were executed only on paper, say sources.
