Damascus: Rami Adham is nothing short of Santa Claus for Syria. At a time when the internet is flooded with images of crime and pain from the war-torn country, this man has been bringing joy and smiles on the little faces of children.
Adham has travelled to Syria 28 times in the past five years to carry toys for the children. He is a father of six children who is encouraged only by the joy that the children feel when they see his “green bag”. “When the children see me arriving, they spread the word so fast that you would not believe it,” he said in a video post on his wall.
“I have walked for six to seven hours and dodged bullets but if I can make it a lot of kids will be very happy,” he says in another video.
Rami Adham is a resident of Finland and spends most of his time at home raising money and getting toys. The incredible part of his journey is that he is smuggled into Syria every time by his friends in Turkey and Syria!
He is called “Uncle Toy” by the children in Syria. Apart from toys for the children, Adham tries to ferry as many necessities as he can for the people and is also believed to be funding four schools in Syria.
“I will never stop doing this. I am completely devoted to the Syrian kids and no one can make me stop doing what I am doing.”
