Encounter Underway In Pulwama, 2 Terrorist Holed Up


Srinagar: An Encounter begins between the security forces and the terrorists in Pulwama’s Samboora on Sunday night.

According to police, at least two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists are believed to be holed up at the encounter site.

“Acting on a tip-off about presence of terrorists in Samboora village, a joint cordon and search operations(CASO) was launched by 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of Indian Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police,” a senior police official said, adding, “As the cordon was being laid, the hiding terrorists fired upon the soldiers.”

However, there are no reports of any causalities from either side. Meanwhile, according to the reports, LeT’s Ayoub Lelhari along with a Pakistani associates are holed up in the area.
