Encounter Started Between Terrorists & Forces In Baramulla


Srinagar: An encounter is underway between the Indian security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore district. According to initial media reports, three terrorists are trapped.

Earlier, Lieutenant General, KJS Dhillon, commander of the Chinar Corps appealed to all the terrorists in the valley to surrender and said that whoever picks a gun against the country will be eliminated by the security forces

The top army officer also requested the parents in the valley especially mothers to ensure that their children who have picked up guns to surrender and return to the mainstream
“Mothers have an important role in ensuring that their children remain safe. They must ask those children who have picked up guns to give them up,” IANS quoted Lt General Dhillon as saying.

After the ghastly Pulwama terror attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans, the Indian Army eliminated the top leadership of the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) within 100 hours of the terror attack.

JeM had claimed responsibility for the attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred. After the terror attack, a regular exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops has been reported.

The first ceasefire violation was reported from Nowshera sector when the Pakistan Army started indiscriminate unprovoked firing with small arms in the evening on 19th February.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, security forces fired shots in the air after suspicious movement was noticed by the sentry at Nagisharan camp of 34 Rashtriya Rifles in Shopian, today.
