Encounter Breaks Out In Kashmir’s Shopian

Jammu: An encounter has broken out between terrorists and security forces in Shopian town of south Kashmir. According to reports, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped.

The encounter is going on in Bagdad area of Awneera village. Both terrorists and security forces are engaged in a heavy exchange of fire. It is a joint operation by the security forces involving 14 battalion of CRPF, 3 RR and Special Operation Group, Zenapora.  Heavy stone pelting has been reported on the spot. Cordon-and-search operations have begun in the village.
