Ekta Not Doing TV Adaptation Of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham


Mumbai: In the month of April, Ekta announced on her Twitter account that she is soon going to return to making family dramas. This led to the speculation that she will be doing a TV adaptation of Karan Johar’s film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. However, in her latest post, the producer hasEkta  issued a clarification.

Giving more details about the show, Ekta said that she is not remaking ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. Instead her show centers around a wealthy family with a pharmaceutical business.

Ekta wrote in her tweet, “I’m not making Kabhi Khushi Kabhi gum! I’m making a show about a rich family that owns a pharmaceutical business! The story is completely diff!! Soon on. SONY!”

While Ekta’s earlier tweet was “A family soap after years !!! Mostly done love stories recently with d backdrop of family!! This soap will air on SONY …a family that eats together stays together NOOOO a family that accepts each other stays together Nothing new everything old !!! Back to basics! Simple warm endearing !!! Iv been v radical with my content recently this is a 2018 take at d age old family story!!!”

Some of Ekta’s current shows that air on TV centre around love tales like Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The producer is also responsible for bringing back the trend of fantasy supernatural thrillers.

However, her latest venture would make her return to what she is best known for – family dramas.
