Economic Corridor proposed between India-Nepal-China

New Delhi: An economic corridor with India has been proposed by  China through Nepal in Chinese President Xi Jinping’s latest effort to enhance connectivity and trade links across South Asia.

Apart from the Economic corridor, Jinping has also proposed a railway route to connect the three countries during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China in June.

Following the proposal, the China-Nepal-India corridor was again discussed during a meeting between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi when they met in Kathmandu at a conference.

The economic corridor has been welcomed by India although Indian officials have remained quiet about the corridor proposal.
