EC To Replace Indelible Ink, Brush With Marker

New Delhi: Keeping in view the style statement of younger generation, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to junk the ink vials and brush, after youngsters complained of blotchy stain.

The ECI has advised Mysore Paints and Varnish Ltd, the only Indian company that makes indelible ink, to explore this option.

The marker pen, the poll panel hopes, will leave a neater marker. According to EC sources, the company is expected to make a presentation later this month, after which the poll panel will test the pens in a few byelections before introducing it in a full-fledged state election.
