EC Seize 1 Crore Rupees Before Polls In Bengal


Kolkata: The Election Commission (EC) has seized rupees 1 crore from the state before polls. EC has given this figure on Saturday. EC has gathered this amount during last 18 days on their search.

EC was verifying the amounts that were incurred in election expenses. The flying squad of EC has seized 69 lakh rupees from districts. The static squad of the same has seized 31.50 lakh rupees from Burrabazaar area of Kolkata.

Joint Chief Election Officer, Amitava Sengupta informed that to check election expenses in detail 908 flying squads are watching in 21 districts. Moreover, there are 624 static squads that are operating across the state. These teams can send pictures directly. If EC finds that there is any break in code of conduct, they will take action within 30 minutes. Sengupta also added that already they have sent show-cause notices to Anubrata Mondal, Mohammad Salim and Rezzak Mollah for their controversial comments.
