Kolkata: Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi has sought a report from the state election Commissioner regarding the incident of firing on Sub Inspector Jagannath Mondal during the KMC elections on Saturday April 18. The meeting continued for nearly one and a half hours. The Governor has asked the State election Commissioner to submit a report within two days.
State Election Commissioner Susanta Ranjan Upadhay has approached Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi over the issue of violence during the Corporation elections in Kolkata. According to sources, the report given to the commissioner by the District Magistrate has not agreed upon by him. He wants repolling at a few booths of Kolkata.
According to sources, he met the governor to find a way out for holding the repolls. Various legal procedures in holding the repolls has also been discussed with the Governor.
