Kolkata: East Bengal club will honor star footballer Shubash Bhowmick and Sayed Naimuddin with lifetime achievement award. Their contribution to the club as coach is undeniable.
The team under Bhowmick’s coaching won the Asian Cup championship. Skipper Naimuddin from Hyderabad came to Kolkata and gained his popularity by playing for East Bengal club. Last year he was awarded with the Mohun Bagan ‘Ratna’ award and this year he will be awarded the lifetime achievement award from East Bengal.
The legends have played many great matches in their time and scored many goals in their career. The legends have displayed great performances during the 70’s. East Bengal will also honor Hockey legend Dhanraj Pillai with the pride of India award.
East Bengal will complete 100 years of their establishment in 2020. The club officials are planning about a documentary to hold up the club’s glorious history. They want heavyweight director Gautam Ghose to make the film. However, it’s not fixed.
