Kolkata: A step aimed at providing the brave hearts with a second career option, Indian Army’s Eastern Command wants to sign MoU with the Calcutta university to educate their retired soldiers. The proposal has been given to the university authority already by Eastern Command.
According to the sources, Eastern command already held a meeting with the Calcutta university officials in this week. Calcutta university authorities wanted fifteen days from Command to make a final decision on this issue. The matter will be finalized in the presence of VC at a high level meeting.
Sources also added that Calcutta university showed their interest to sign a Mou with the Eastern Command. Eastern Command already send proposals to the Mumbai university and IIMC of the Pune.
Army officials wants to emphasis on the professional subjects such as Mass communication and Economics to educate their retired brave hearts for their better future planning.
The Mou will help Army personnel to find job opportunities outside the uniform. Jawans joined the Army at a very young age and retire early often in their 30s. It is imperative that they are provided with opportunities to complete their education, enabling them to find job opportunities outside the uniform.
