Kolkata: Swapan Ball, the East Bengal footballer passed away at a private hospital in Kolkata on Friday. He was passed away at 1.00 AM. He was the executive member of the club.

Swapan Bal was one of the background pillars of Indian football for last several decades. He was one of the finest club officials and was the living encyclopedia of Indian football. Indian football is indeed poorer without you.

Swapan Ball has been a part of the Red & Gold brigade for decades and played the role of a manager successfully for years. He was also the manager of East Bengal’s historic ASEAN Cup winning team.
