Kolkata: Armando Colaco. the head coach of East Bengal has been show caused on Thursday. As per East Bengal sources, Armando often went back to Goa citing health concern. The team’s performance in the last Federation Cup and in the starting of the I League is not very convincing. Colaco is also known for favouring the Goan players in the squad. Keeping in mind all these instances, the East Bengal club has decided to show cause Armando Colaco. On asking about the letter, Secretary Kalyan Mazumder did not deny the fact but at the same time did not make any cooment on the issue. It is being learnt that Armando also did not comment or give his reaction on the issue.
East Bengal is going to host arch rivals Mohun Bagan for the I League’s first derby on Feb 17. Less than a week before the Big Match, how would the decision sink in among the players is the hot question to be asked. Whether the Goan coach would be seen in the dug out of the East Bengal camp on Feb 17 is also uncertain.
