Kolkata: The history of last fifteen years was not re-written at the East Bengal ground on Tuesday. Biswajit Bhattacharya's East Bengal was held to a goalless draw by Rajib Nandy's Aryan Club, who by now has gained the title of becoming the terror of the Red and Golds. In the last fifteen years, Aryan have not been beaten by the Red and Golds at the East Bengal ground. Same was the scenario as the gods of destiny had their favour on the team which had Raghu Nandy's name in the column of the Technical Director.
It would be wrong to say that East Bengal did not have their chances and share of luck. The positive attacks from the wings and the midfield kept Aryan's defense on their toes and the score board could have been different if the Gods of Luck had smiled on East Bengal on Tuesday afternoon. In fact in the 84th minute, Lobo earned a penalty for the Red and Golds. But, the Nigerian goal machine Ranty Martins failed to capitalise and straight away shot the ball into the gloves of the Aryan goalie, who was even adjudged Man Of the Match at the end of the match.
