East Bengal conquer ‘Khalsa’ in AFC Cup

Kolkata: Although it is not in the same tournament, but East Bengal is certainly back in the football fray keeping aside the lean patch. After Bharat FC and Pune FC in the I League, Eelco Schattorie’s boys have registered a third win on a trot against Balestier Khalsa in the AFC cup though.

Riding on Baldeep Singh’s early goal in the first half which came in the 22nd minute, East Bengal took a lead in the match. Although the second goal was a same side, the third goal came from the boot of the inform Nigerian, Rantin Martins. The spectators were also happy to taste three consecutive wins of their favourite team. The team will surely get into the winning groove based on this particular win and play the remaining matches well in the I League, feels the football sphere of West Bengal.

On the other hand, Bengaluru FC defeated Warriors FC 1-0. Robin Singh of BFC scored in the 76th minute of the match.
