Kokrajhar: An earthquake of the magnitude of 5.6 on Richter scale was measured in Assam in North-East India on Sunday which shook the state and the rest of north east India including the neighbouring countries of Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
The epicenter of the quake was located near Kokrajhar of Assam at a depth of 10 kilometers from the ground on latitude 26.5 degree north and longitude 90.1 degree east.
The doors and windows of the house were rattled and people were forced to come out of their house in fear. There have been no reports of casualties or damage to property due to the quake.
Panic has spread in the areas near to the epicenter due to the quake.
