New Delhi: A fresh warning has been issued about a possible thunderstorm accompanied with squall which may hit four states West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh,Assam on Friday a home ministry spokesperson said.
The Indian Meteorological Department (Mausam Bhavan) said the thunderstorm accompanied by severe wins was likely today over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Odisha, northwest Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The severe winds are expected to continue over the next few days but the number of affected states would gradually reduce.
As many as 124 people have lost their lives due to thunderstorms and lightning in five states in the last two days, the Home Ministry said. The highest 73 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh, 35 killed in Rajasthan, eight in Telangana, six in Uttarakhand and two in Punjab.
