New Delhi : Dussehra is celebrated on the 10th day of Navratri. It marks the historic victory of Lord Ram over the evil King Ravana. Effigies of the latter are burnt as a symbol of the victory of good over evil across the country.

As the festive-engulfed country is all set to celebrate Dussehra today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the celebrations at New Delhi’s Red Fort ground later on Saturday.

Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to convey his wishes. “Greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashmi,” he posted. Police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure a trouble-free Dusshera in the city.
