Due To Muharram, No Idol Immersion In Proper Time

Kolkata: No idol immersion after 6 pm on Dashami on Septemer 30 till October 1 due to Muharram processions in West Bengal, says Mamata official.

Talking to heads of various Durga Puja organisers and Kolkata Police, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced that there would be no idol immersion after 6 pm on Dashami on Septemer 30 till October 1 due to Muharram.

There will be no immersion on October 1 due to Muharram. It will allow on after that and continue to the lakshmi Puja.

On the same day, CM Mamata Unveils FIFA U-17 Kolkata Logo At Nabanna on Wednesday. The Under 17 Football World Cup is staring on October 8. The final match is scheduled for October 28. Kolkata is one of the venues of this mega event; the World Cup Final will be held in the City of Joy.

The organisers of the Football World Cup on Wednesday called on the Chief Minister at Nabanna. Addressing the press after the meeting, the Chief Minister sought cooperation from all quarters to make this event a huge success.

“This is a big event, an important event. We all must cooperate to make it a success. We have got an opportunity to project Kolkata in front of the world and we must do so with earnest effort.”
