Mumbai: Mumbai is on high alert after a drone was seen in the city on Tuesday evening. As per initial information by CISF, an Indigo pilot spotted a drone before landing at Kurla near Mumbai airport nforms CISF.
Matter has been referred to local police for investigation. A suspicious drone has reportedly been spotted in Mumbai by a pilot of IndiGo Airline. According to preliminary reports, the pilot identified as Ashish Ranjan spotted the drone before landing his flight at the domestic airport.
According to reports, Ranjan had spotted the drone flying near the heavily populated region of Kurla. Ranjan had subsequently alerted the Airport Police at 5:55 PM in the evening. An alert was issued by the CISF Control Room, Domestic Airport late in the evening. According to the source, entire Mumbai has been put on high alert. Security forces have pitched up efforts to trace the suspicious drone.
While giving out the details to the control room, IndiGo pilot Ashish Ranjan claimed that he was steering the domestic flight 6E 755 which was coming from Delhi to Mumbai. Minutes before landing, he spotted a blue and pink coloured drone at 3.5 km east side.
The drone was nearly 100 feet below his flight. The information has been passed over to East Control, West Control and local police stations in Kurla region.
