DRI Arrested 2 Person Along With Rs 2 Cr Foreign Cigarettes

Kolkata: Two persons carrying cigarettes worth Rs 2 crore were arrested by the DRI Kolkata branch. The cigarettes were brought from Dubai. After interrogating the two suspects of the trafficking ring it was revealed that the seized cigarettes were from Indonesia. The accused were the residents of Mumbai.

The cigarette were imported from UAE, Dubai to Haldia port in a ship. The officials who were handling this international spread their net near Haldia port to nab the smugglers. The search was carried out as soon as the ship arrived.

The 100,000 Setsx Mond Strawberry Cigarette and 14,40,000 Sticks International Cigarettes are sold in the ship. The DRI suspects there is an international connection with the smugglers. They are being arrested and interrogated. Investigators are expected to find the other members of the gang by questioning the assailants.
