Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court advocate Rabi Sankar Chatterjee of CPIM has approached the division bench of Chief Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya and asked the Court to file a Suo-motu Petiton regarding the Majerhat bridge collapse on Wednesday.This comes after the tragic incident of Tuesday where a section of an over 40 year old bridge of Majerhat on the arterial Diamond Harbour Road in south Kolkata that collapsed, claiming life of a person officially, trapping many others and crushing several vehicles.
But Chief Justice refused to file a suo-motu case himself and instead instructed Rabi Sankar to file an application regarding the same. Once the application is filed Chief Justice will then decide whether this case can be acceptable or not.In short the case is about to be filed at Calcutta High Court.
