Kolkata: Chief Minister spoke up on the issue of violence in Baduria. She lashed out the perpretrators of Baduria clash, that were triggered by a Facebook post.

Baduriya, a small area of Basirhat in North 24 Paraganas district had turned into a battlefield following a fresh communal clash that started in the early hours of Monday. The reason behind the clash was a Facebook post that have hurt the sentiments of a specific community. A vast area across Baduriya was affected, shops were vandalized and three police vans were set ablaze.About 30 km road adjacent to Baduriya stands blocked.

Baduria incident has been immensely spreading across the vast area of North 24 Parganas for more than 36 hours. On Tuesday afternoon, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while addressing a press conference criticized West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi’s behavior as she felt insulted by his words on the fuming issue of the communal clashes in Basirhat’s Baduria.

She said “We strongly criticize those who are spreading violence even after arresting the accused. People of the whole community are protesting against a particular issue, I cannot fire everyone .”

“I am running the government of ‘Maa Maati Maanush’. We have tolerated a lot. Don’t take it as our weakness,” she added.

Mamata has warned both the communities to not to test the patience of administration . She has referred to BJP for the communal clash in Baduria.
