WB Municipal Elections: Polling Booths Turns Into Battleground


Update: After all the violations from the beginning of the Municipal elections the percentage of the voters in Kurseong , Darjeeling, Mirik and Kalingpong are followed as 29.4%, 25.3%, 33.3% and 29.5%

Update: Till 11 Am the percentage of voters in Domkal, Pujali and Raiganj are followed as  40%, 45% and 33%.

Update: A team of Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel has been deployed in the violated area after the incident.

Update: Miscreants have entered at the ward number 9 at Pujali. The EVMs have been broken and the booth camps have been ransacked.

Kolkata: Polling for seven municipalities across West Bengal began on Sunday. During the ongoing polling in Domkal municipality under Murshidabad district turns into battleground. Many people have been injured in various scuffles across the Domkol Municipal elections.

A fresh clash starts between TMC and Congress. The voters have been barred from casting their votes. Among the seven municipalities Domkal is the new municipality. Polling is underway in the village of Domkal as explosion takes place at the ward number 16.

“Trinamool will be responsible for blood bath in Domkal, they are terrorising our supporters. TMC leaders are openly roaming around with arms and ammunitions and police is sitting,” says state Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Mean while Congress polling agent was stopped from entering the polling booth in ward number 26 of Raiganj municipality. Bombs were also hurled allegedly by the ruling party. A clash broke out between the TMC and the opposition across the municipal elections in Raigunj municipality.
