The police didn’t allow Stalin to proceed to Salem district. Moorthy told Stalin that there was tension between AIADMK and DMK members in Salem over the desiliting of the lake. Stalin was sitting inside his car and the police held talks with him. Later, the police arrested him.

Hundreds of DMK members staged a road blockade at Kaniyur. They too were arrested. All of them were taken to a marriage hall near Kaniyur. Stalin was planning to lead a human chain protest against NEET at Salem on Thursday evening.
