District Authorities Take Initiative To Make Bankura Clean

Bankura: The district authorities and the Zila Parishad took an initiative to make Bankura clean.

Since the past one week, a series of promotional and awareness programs were going on at the district’s gramin regions. The common people also have been brought under this project of making Bankura clean.

On Sunday, a marathon race was held and started by district magistrate Dr. Umashankar , Police super Koteshwar Rao, president general Mrityunjoy Murmu and deputy president general Subhashih Batabyal and others, at Tamlibandh.

More than 500 people participated in the race from different parts of the district. People stood on both sides of the road and clapped to encourage the participants.

The race started from Tamlibandh’s Bhairabsthan-Chandmaridanga-College road and then again ended at Tamlibandh’s field.

At the end of the race, the DM at a programme said that in an effort to ensure a clean district, 4 lakh 20 thousand toilets have been already made at the gramin areas. The common people have also been educated on the ways to use the toilets. This programme was held for the last one week in the district’s every block and village.

A special programme was also arranged to observe World Toilet Day.
