New Delhi: Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik slammed a six on the last of the match as India pulled off an incredible chase beating Bangladesh by four wickets in the Nidahas T20 tri-series final.

For a cricketer who made his international debut 14 years ago, the final ball six has made him a hero among Indian cricket fans and to celebrate the occasion, Amul has come up with a fitting cartoon to honour the cricketer.

In the latest topical, the famous Amul girl can be seen sharing bread and butter with another character who is wearing the Indian cricket team’s jersey – supposedly Karthik. The cartoon has been captioned “Dinesh Karattack!”

What is more lovely is that with this cartoon, Amul fulfilled a childhood dream of the Tamil Nadu cricketer, who was grateful to the brand for the cartoon, and shared it on Twitter with the caption: “To be on this, was a childhood dream. Very happy grateful.”

India, chasing 167, needed 34 runs from the last two overs when Karthik walked in after the fall of Manish Pandey’s wicket.

The “Men in Blue’ were struggling to get the big hits as Vijay Shankar, who was sent ahead of Karthik, was struggling to put bat to ball.

But Karthik blew away Bangladesh in just the 8 deliveries that he faced, smashing 22 runs in the 19th over bowled by Rubel Hossain and then smashed a six off the last ball to lead India to victory.

The 32-year-old has attributed his recent surge to his good karma and divine intervention.
“It feels good that all the attention is on me. All the good karma and good things I have done over the years helped me hit that six. It is just that the shot went for a six…probably the two mm extra that it went for it became a six,” said Karthik.
