Despite Kim Threat, US, S Korea & Australia Conduct Joint Military Drill

Washington: Amid Trump’s official visit in Asia-Pacific region and Kim’s threat, US, S Korea, Australia Conduct Joint Military Drill to show their power in pacific region. This exercise aimed at the prevention of import and export of North Korean nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.

In his ongoing 12-day trip to Asia, Trump further ramped up his tough rhetoric against North Korea over its nuclear and missile programs. Speaking in Tokyo on Monday, Trump renewed his warning that the “era of strategic patience” with North Korea was over.

Four vessels, namely, a South Korean Sejong destroyer carrying an Aegis combat system, the US destroyer Chafee and two Australian frigates, the Melbourne and the Parramatta, are participating in the exercises, which will last for two days.

In mid-October, the United States and South Korea conducted joint exercises in the Japanese and the Yellow Seas. Drills involved 40 ships, including US nuclear aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan.
