Kolkata: Indian Football Association (IFA) announced through a letter to Mohun Bagan, on Tuesday, that the derby match of the Calcutta Football League will take place on the day as previously scheduled.
Indian Football Association (IFA) said that the derby match between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will be held as per schedule on September 7 itself at the Kalyani Stadium. The IFA strictly said that, nor the previously scheduled time, neither the pre-decided venue, will change. After taking such a decision at the subcommittee meeting of the Indian Football Association (IFA), they immediately sent the message through a letter to the Mohun Bagan officials citing that they cannot change the pre-decided derby schedule.
A managers’ meeting was conducted on Tuesday itself to discuss on the issue, where match commissioner, the match organizer and East Bengal officials were present. As per sources, Mohun Bagan officials were not present in this meeting. Thus, as according to IFA’s order, East Bengal will be present at the field at 3pm. If the Mohun Bagan team does not show up within the stipulated time then East Bengal will get a walk over, as per rules.
Indian Football Association (IFA) sent the Derby match tickets to both teams on Tuesday. East Bengal fans were collected there ticket for this match.
