Derby Ends In A Draw


Kolkata: Arch-rivals East Bengal failed to win the derby even if they had the lead after Ranty Martins’ goal in 63rd minute of the match. Jairu took the ball in his stride and pushed it towards Ranty, who was completely isolated; he made no mistake taking a volley. The high-voltage match got a bit spicy with this long-awaited goal ending a deadlock.

Bagan players made no mistake to come back in the match, and finally at 77th minute Cornell Glen headed in from Sony Norde’s free-kick from left.

Referee A.Rowan showed 5 yellow cards to control the match, which always tends to become rough. Ultimately, the 313th derby ended with a draw, leaving everyone disappointed.
