Demonitisation A Shocker To Pakistan: Home Minister

New Delhi: Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his bold step of demonetising, Union home minister Rajnath Singh said the move has shocked Pakistan as its motive to destabilize Indian economy will go for a toss now.

“This action is going to make the country an economic superpower. And, it will also jolt the motives of Pakistan to destabilize Indian economy by pumping fake currencies in denomination of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500. The same Pakistani fake currencies were enabling the terror groups to strengthen their position,” the minister said.

The minister also disclosed that Modi had mentioned in Cabinet’s meeting that he is going for a surgical strike on black money just before announcing it on Tuesday evening.

Referring to Trump’s win in US election, the Union home minister said Republican candidate Donald Trump won as he had promised to follow Modi’s policies after coming to power.

“How Modi’s popularity has increased across the globe can be understood by seeing that Republican Party candidate Donald Trump won the US presidential election by promising the people to follow Modi’s policies after coming to power,” he said.

Addressing a rally at Town Polytechnic ground before flagging off the fourth Parivartan Yatra of Bhartiya Janata Party on Wednesday, Rajnath not only praised the policies of Modi, but also took a jibe on the ongoing infighting in Samajwadi Party. “I don’t have moral right to intervene in internal fight of any family. But, the crisis of Mulayam’s family is affecting the functioning of state machinery in UP. If this party is unable to solve the internal crisis, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav should call cabinet meeting to recommend the Election Commission for holding assembly polls in the state.”

Mentioning achievements of two and half years of the Modi government, he said, “While projecting Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP before 2014 parliamentary election, I had made it very clear as party president that BJP would not contest election just to come to power. We wanted to come to power to build a strong society and nation. With his each and every work, Modi not only re-established the credibility and transparency to ensure that India is becoming fastest growing economy by eradicating corruption but with his foreign policies he also gained popularity globally. This is the reason why politicians like Trump took help of Modi’s image and policies to boost his prospects in US presidential election and also ensured victory.”
