Democracy Wins, Congratulations Karnataka: Bengal CM


Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today came out in support of Karnataka political movement.

She tweeted,”Democracy wins. Congratulations Karnataka. Congratulations DeveGowda Ji, Kumaraswamy Ji, Congress and others. Victory of the ‘regional’ front”

The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of resorting to horse-trading to prove its majority in the Karnataka Assembly. She tweeted on Friday ”We have great respect for the verdict of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. We will watch tomorrow’s floor test. We, the “regional” parties, will decide our next course of action after that..”

“I condemn horse-trading, in general, as it is bad for all. We always respect democratic institutions. Problem is today somebody may come in power and tomorrow he may not be in power but if we violate the constitution, it is going to have an adverse effect on us,” Mamata told earlier.

The Karnataka government led by B.S. Yeddyurappa, lost the floor test in the Vidhan Soudha here on Saturday.Yeddyurappa resigned after he wasn’t able to establish his majority. In his speech inside Vidhan Soudha he said that he will fight till his last breath.
