Delhi women gangraped, accused arrested in Goa


Panaji: Two Delhi women were abducted and gangraped in Goa by five men on Monday, who posed as sleuths from anti-narcotics department. All the five accused have been arrested and slapped with gangrape, kidnapping and robbery charges. The women, aged 22 and 30, had hired a taxi to go to Anjuna beach when the accused stopped them midway in Arpora village posing as anti-narcotic cell officers.

The five men reportedly took the two women to an apartment in Khobrawaddo, Calangute where they sexually assaulted them. All the five accused were arrested on way from the flat, in the presence of victims, after the taxi driver complained to the police. They were attached to a controversial nightclub at Calangute village which was recently demolished by local people for allegedly being a prostitution den.
