New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a Delhi Police traffic constable was seen throwing a brick at a woman during an altercation on Monday morning.
The woman was stopped by the traffic cop when she jumped a red light and asked to pay a bribe. The woman refused to pay the bribe after which the cop hurled a stone at her. The constable has been arrested.
Speaking to Times Now, the woman, Ramanjeet Kaur said she was travelling home after a PTM (parent teacher meeting) when the cop pulled her over for crossing a red light.
“I said I didn’t cross any red light, but if I did, I’m sorry. Then he told me he will issue me a challan. He then asked me for my documents which I gave and later said I can pay Rs 200. I told him to issue me a challan. He said no. You can pay 200 and go. I said no, issue me a challan and only then I will pay. Or you can send the challan at home and then I will pay,” Kaur said.
Head constable Satish Chand of Tuglak Road circle, who was suspended for this incident earlier, has now been dismissed from service and a case has been registered against him, Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi said.
